River North glimpsed in Chicago Fire promo
17-May-12 A promo for a new television show filmed in Chicago offers a few glimpses of River North. Chicago Fire, a drama inspired by the Chicago Fire Department, will air this fall on NBC.
Some of the shows first episode was filmed in River North this year. In late March, the corner of North Franklin Street and West Institute Place played the role of a building on fire. A few days later, part of the Columbus Street Bridge was closed for filming.
The series is produced by Dick Wolfe, who also created the long-running television drama Law and Order. Filming in Chicago will continue throughout the year and into 2013, according to the Chicago Film Office.
